SHIRLEY- Joseph L. Duffy, 76, passed away at his home in Shirley, Indiana on Thursday June 4, 2009. A son of the late Leo Joseph and Bessie Berkley Duffy, Joe was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 13, 1932. He worked as an industrial and residential painter and moved from Indianapolis to the Warrington / Shirley area 20 years ago. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles of New Castle. and was honorably discharged from the United States Army following service during the Korean War. Survivors include his son, Joey Duffy of Naples, Florida; 3 grandsons- Mark, Bryan and Joe Duffy; 2 sisters- Betty Williamson of Fishers and Mary Oliver of Greenwood; nieces and nephews. Including his parents, Joe was also preceded in death by a sister- Margaret McMahn. Following cremation at the Eastern Indiana Crematory in Lewisville, the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. till the time of services at 1 p.m. on Tuesday June 9 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Shirley.
