John A. Summan 97, of Cambridge City, Indiana passed away Friday May 18, 2012 at Reid Hospital, Richmond, Indiana. One of six children, John was born March 15, 1915 in Raleigh, Indiana to the late Henry and Martha (Stirn) Summan. He was married to Norma Lou Tague on April 26, 1947 whom survives. He farmed in Milton Indiana for 41 years and moved to Cambridge City, after retirement in 1990. He was a member of Milton Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Norma Lou; a daughter, Kim Hudson and her husband, Bill of New Castle, Indiana; a granddaughter, Anna Marie Leyes, and her husband, Dave of New Castle, Indiana; a great granddaughter, Alivia; 4 step-grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren; 5 step-great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Polly Snyder of rural Cambridge City, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Frank, Walter and Russell Summan; and a sister,Freda Walters. Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. Tuesday May 22 until time of services at 2 p.m. at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev. Tom Cici will officiate. Burial will follow in the Zion's Lutheran Cemetery, Pershing, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be given to Milton Christian Church.
