LEWISVILLE - Joe E. Pearce, 89, of Lewisville, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at I.U.- Ball Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. Joe was born on May 12, 1923 in Waco, TX to the late Jerry Ward and Nellie Ethel (Bartlett) Pearce. Joe received his bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico in 1950. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army Air Force after serving his country during World War II. Joe married Martha Harris on March 3, 1950 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Joe and Martha owned and operated Pearce Lighting Manufacturing and Design Company from 1964 until retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite in Indianapolis. Joe enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, making things with his hands, and spending time with his family. Survivors include three children, Linda (Andrew) Meehan of Detroit, Michigan, Carol Pearce of Lewisville, Joe Pearce, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Lindsay(James) Dunn, Zander Meehan, Cristine (Jason) Rhodes, Jerry Jones, Matthew and Jordan McComas, Kalin Pearce; three great-grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his wife on March 3, 2006; four brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m on Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, 115 West U.S. Hwy. 40- Lewisville, IN 47352. Joe Pearce, Jr. will preside. Entombment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Washington Park East, Family Life Center, 10612 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229.
