STRAUGHN - Joe Davidson, 40, passed away Thursday morning June 21, 2018 at Henry Community Health in New Castle, Indiana. Joe was born in New Castle on September 11, 1977. He attended elementary school in Hagerstown and was a 1996 graduate of Tri High School. Joe lived most of his life in the Straughn community and had worked for MilCo Dairy Farm in Lewisville. He had also worked in construction. Joe was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Hagerstown Post 333. He had a passion for music and played drums and guitar. Joe loved to be outside hunting and cutting firewood and also playing darts and pool.

Survivors include his mom, Ruth Ann (Mills) Davidson of Straughn; daughter, Shelbi Nicole Zapfe of New Castle; 7 siblings, Larry (Mary) Morton of Huntsville, AL, Wade Davidson of Ohio, Jimmy Davidson of New Castle, Mary Lou Morton of New Castle, Tricia Anne "Patsy" Morton of Lewisville, Annette (Matt) Stewart of Straughn, Dana Swain of Hagerstown; grandmother, Ruth Spears of Albany, KY; special friend, Karita McDaniel of Cambridge City; beloved dogs, Harley and Daisy; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, James Stanley Davidson.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday June 25, 2018 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial will follow at the New Lisbon Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Sunday June 24th.
