CAMBRIDGE CITY- Joan Helen McCord, 80, passed away on Thursday November 26, 2015 at Ambassador Healthcare in Centerville, Indiana. A daughter of the late William A. and Martha (Mullen) Ingalls, Joan was born in Pershing, Indiana on May 1, 1935. She attended Lincoln High School in Cambridge City and graduated from Anderson Beauty College in Richmond. Joan has lived in the Cambridge City community for most of her life. She served as Jackson Township Trustee for eight years, was a foster parent for several children, a member of the First Assembly of God Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Joan had worked as a beautician in Richmond and Connersville and also as a telephone operator for the Richmond Phone Company. Survivors include her 2 children, Kent D. (Linda) McCord of Milan and Kimberly D. McCord of Cambridge City; 5 grandchildren, Michael (wife Melissa), Kyle, Joanna L., Ashtin and Cameron McCord; 2 step grandchildren, Cody and Erica King; several great grandchildren; 9 siblings, Nancy (Frank) Sherwood, William J., Gary (Sharon), Michael (Debbie), Dwight, Marvin (Debbie), Jerry (Terri) and David Ingalls, Kathy (companion Tom Hylton) Johnson; several nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. McCord on April 9, 2002. They were married in Richmond, Indiana on August 7, 1954; 2 siblings Betty Wissler and Ralph Ingalls. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m. on Thursday December 3, 2015 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial will follow at the Zion's Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing.
