Dublin: Joan McCarty, 84, of Dublin, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday June 16, 2010 at her residents after a short illiness, surrounded by her family. Joan was born on January 8, 1926 in Connersville, IN to the parents of Kenneth and Olive (Goble) Moistner Sr. Joan was a graduate from Everton High School, but had lived in Dublin most of her life. She married Tom McCarty Sr. on April 23, 1949 in Connersville and they had been married for 60 years. Joan was a devoted wife and mother and rasied 6 sons and 1 daughter. Surviving relatives include 5 sons, Tom Jr. of Dublin, Greg (Joyce) of Cambridge City, Terry of Pennville, Mark (Joyce) of Cambridge City and John (Juli) McCarty of Dublin, daughter, Ann (Pastor Tim) Webb of Rural New Castle, 4 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 1 great grandson, 3 step- granddaughters, 1 step-grandson and several nieces and nephews . Preceded in death by parents, husband Tom McCarty Sr - April 26, 2009, son Pastor Rick McCarty, 2 still born daughters, Debra & Kandace and brother Kenneth Moistner. Graveside Services will be at 10:00 am. Saturday June 19, 2010 at South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin, with services being conducted by her son-in-law Paster Tim Webb. There will be no public calling.
