Obituary

MILTON- Jesse Frank Whitton, 81, passed away on Thursday July 28, 2011 at Ambassadore Health Care in Centerville, Indiana. Jesse was born on July 28, 1930 in Wayne County, Indiana the son of the late Pleasant Harvey and Geneva Smith Whitton. Jesse was a graduate of Lincoln High School class of 1948 and lived in the Milton community most of his life. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Jesse served in the United States Army from July 1950 until August 1953. Jesse worked as a computer programmer at PRC Recording and Tom Raper Inc. in Richmond. He enjoyed geneology research and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Centerville Christian Church. Jesse is survived by 2 sons, Larry (Patty) Whitton of Senica, South Carolina, and Paul (Theresa) Whitton of Carthage, Tennessee; 3 grandsons, Kevin (Jennifer) Whitton of Chicago, IL, Michael Whitton of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Jesse R. Whitton of Dublin, IN; sister, Louetta (Darrell) Swearington of Cambridge City, IN; sister in-law, Artie Allen Brown of Cambridge City, IN. Preceded in death by his parents; wife Dessie "Dee" Whitton on December 16, 2003; 2 brothers, James Monroe and Robert Lee Whitton. Services will be on Monday August 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin, Indiana. Burial will follow at the Westside Cemetery in Milton. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday July 31, 2011 at the funeral home. Military Graveside services will be conducted by the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169 .
