STRAUGHN - Jeri L. Tibbs, 59, of Straughn, passed away Tuesday, April 16 at 9:27 pm at Indiana University Hospital. Jeri was born on September 29, 1953, in New Castle to Max and Phyllis (Wallace) Woodward. She was a lifetime area resident and graduated from Tri-High School in 1971. On March 1, 1975 she married Fred Tibbs whom she later divorced, he preceded her death in 2010. She worked as a beautician in Hancock and Henry County, at Rihm's Meat Plant in Cambridge City, as a motor carrier inspector and dispatch for the Indiana State Police in Connersville. Jeri was a member of Straughn Community Chapel and enjoyed music, reading, painting ceramics and cooking. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Carrie Tibbs of Kendallville; granddaughter, Olivia Tibbs of Kendallville; mother, Phyllis Woodward; brother and sister-in-law Tom and Cathy Woodward of Greenfield; sister and brother-in-law Sandy and Jack Myers of Filmore. Her father, Max Woodward, preceded her in death on September 19, 1992. A memorial service will take place at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Straughn Community Chapel located at 4965 US 40, Straughn, with Rev. Rob Rasor officiating.
