NEW CASTLE - Jean Anne Engle, 64, passed away Sunday morning August 13, 2017 at her home in New Castle. A daughter of the late James Kenneth and Kathryn (Meyer) Pass, Jean was born in New Castle, Indiana on October 16, 1952. She was an avid lover and supporter of the Indianapolis Pacers and Colts. Jean also enjoyed collecting snowmen. Formerly of the Cambridge City community, she was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Jean worked in healthcare as a dialysis technician. She was an adopted "Mom" to many.

Survivors include her loving husband of 6 years, James A. Engle of New Castle. They were married on November 3, 2010; 3 children, Kathryn L. (Lyles) King of New Castle; Jennifer A. Lyles-Dishman of Rushville; Krystin L. (Lyles) Patterson of New Castle; step daughter, Rebecca Engle of Plymouth; 6 grandchildren, Tyler J. and Kaylee King, Eric Lyles James, Liam and Kayden Barnard, Faith Patterson; 2 step grandchildren, Christian and Gabe Engle; 5 siblings, Mary Kubala of New Castle; Jim Pass of Hagerstown; Marie Ford of San Antonio, Texas; Priscilla Murray of Economy; and Vickie Dickenson of New Castle; many nieces and nephews.

A sister, Anita Pass, preceded Jean in death.
