Richmond- James D. "J.D." Michael, 72, passed away on Thursday morning July 25, 2013 at his home in Richmond, Indiana. J.D. was born in New Castle, Indiana on November 2, 1940. He was raised in the Milton and Cambridge City community and was a graduate of Milton High School. J.D. also was a graduate of the Indianapolis School of Embalming. He has made his home in Richmond for the past 37 years and retired from DANA Corp. in Richmond where he was a machine operator. In his leisure, J.D. enjoyed camping, fishing and playing golf. Survivors include his wife the former Mildred "Millie" New. They were married in Jelico, Tennessee on December 20, 1975. 6 children, Cheri (Rob) Bills of Cambridge City, Todd Reece of Richmond, Randy (Kathy) Michael of Kihei, Hawaii, Robin (Paul) Fischer of League, Texas, Cindy (Mike) Miller of Columbus, Ohio and Mark (Christeen) Michael of Pittsboro; 8 grandchildren. J.D. was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline (Kellam) Michael. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m. on Monday July 29, 2013 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Pastor Chris Sitler will officate. Cremation will follow.
