James Dale Gerrian

Cambridge City – James Dale Gerrian, 72, of Cambridge City passed away at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana on April 20, 2026. James was born in Rushville, Indiana on June 30, 1953. He joined the Army in September of 1970 and served his country for 3 years. James worked for Detling Farms in Arcanum, Ohio, where he learned how to farm and worked as the farm mechanic. In his leisure, James was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping at Manlove Park and Wayne Works, and loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, the former Judith “Judy” Campbell. They were married in Dover, Florida in December of 1981; 3 children, Melinda McCracken, Joseph Gerrian and Jamison Gerrian; 7 grandchildren, Trisha Luttrell, Tyler Seward, Trenton Ripberger, Trevor Coleman, Maverick Parker, Dakota and Cooper Gerrian; great-granddaughter Ryleigh Luttrell; 4 siblings, Sonja Bunger, Mark Kempton, Wilma Stipp and Verlin Wicker.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Huber Gerrian and Evelyn (Haler) Wicker; infant son, Brian Dale Gerrian; brother, Dale Gerrian; brother-in-law, Frank Bunger and nephew, Brent Bunger.

In accordance with James’ wishes, no public services will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
