Obituary

LEWISVILLE- James E. Cooper, 75 passed away at his home in Lewisville Monday evening February 27, 2012. A son of the late Andrew Cooper and Roxie Cooper-Norris, Jim was born in Alpine, Tennessee on February 6, 1937. Jim has made his home in the Lewisville community since 1975, moving there from Chesterfield. He was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church in Spiceland. He was always willing to help others and faithfully fullfilled his duties as deacon at the church. Jim belonged to the Henry County Community Emergency Reserve Corp. and the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Team. He was a devoted father and grandfather and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed cutting wood, gardening and all sports. Jim retired from Fowler Vending of Cambridge City in 1999 after 19 years of service. He had also worked 20 years at 7- UP Bottling Company in Anderson and Richmond. Survivors include 3 daughters, Deborah (Tom) Alexander of Salina, KS, Patricia "Patty" (David) Baesman of Connersville and Teresia (companion Mark Brown) Razor of New Castle; 10 grandchildren, Jeremy Bilbrey, Brandi Bathon, Crystal Reece, Jason Key, Kaydee Davis, Eric Means, Kyle Benson, Vince Baesman, Corey Razor and Valerie Razor; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 1 sister, Mary Flynn of Cookville, TN; several nieces and nephews including special nephew, Johnny Jent; special friend Rose White of New Castle. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth (Jent) Cooper on July 9, 2008. They were married in Muncie, Indiana on November 16, 1957. 2 brothers, infant Joe Benton Cooper in 1936 and Billy Quenton Cooper in 1987. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday March 3, 2012 at Smyrna Baptist Church, located at the corner of 700 South and State Road 3 in Spiceland. Pastor Larry Delon will offciate. Burial will follow at the Lewisville Cemetery in Lewisville. Visitation will be on Friday March 2 from 4- 8 p.m. at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville.
