NEW CASTLE- Hazel Juwana Lykens, 71, passed away Sunday morning February 18, 2024, at her home in New Castle, Indiana. Hazel was born to the late Willie L. and Willie H. "Billie" (Batchelor) Siggers on September 18, 1952, in Brooksville, Florida. Hazel attended Straughn High School and worked for Dolly Madison in New Castle as a manager. She married Joe Lykens on May 1, 2004, at the Straughn Community Chapel. She attended Faith Baptist Church in Hagerstown. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching the show Gun Smoke, decorating her home, dancing, and listening to all genres of music. She was a big Elvis fan. She also loved relaxing on her front porch. Above all, she loved being a mother and spending time with her children, who were the most important part of her life.

Hazel is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Louis, James, and Henry Siggers; and one sister, Vanessa Rose Siggers.

Hazel is survived by her husband of nearly twenty years, Joe; six children, Tony (Kim) Stewart, Matt (Annette) Stewart, Tina (Bob) Burke, Lisa Stewart, Elizabeth (Robert) Miller, and Rose Stewart; grandchildren, Kinzie Stewart, AJ (Brandi) Stewart, Kassidy (Evan Murphy) Stewart, Jasmine (John) Rogers, Megan (Bryce England) Stewart, Matthew (Sierra Miller) Stewart, Tyler Burke, Kayli Burke, Macy Stewart, Kyle Burke, Raelynn Loveless, Andrew Loveless, Grayson Miller and Catie Miller, Jaylyn Stewart; and eleven great-grandchildren; siblings, Naomi Lanter, David (Angie) Siggers, Tilda Pegg, and Raymond (Lisa) Siggers.

Arrangements for Hazel include a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev. Raymond Siggers will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the funeral home in Dublin.
