RICHMOND- Hazel Irene Hunt, 86, of Richmond, passed away on Wednesday May 11, 2011 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Hazel was born on December 22, 1924 in Greensburg (Rodney), Indiana to Harry and Mary (Masters) Stuart. Hazel had 4 sisters, all have preceded her in death, Elvira (Charlie) Breeden, Helen (Wilbur) Smith, Myrtle (Howard) Waugh, Louella Powers; 1 infant brother and daughter inlaw, Carolyn Myers also have preceded her in death. Hazel has lived most of her life in Wayne County. She also lived in Tampa, Florida for 20 years and retired from the Hillsbobo County School Corporation in 1987. After retirement, she and her husband Victor, moved back to Richmond where she lived until her death. Hazel was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Womens Auxiliary- American Legion Post 169 in Cambridge City. Survivors include her husband Victor James Hunt whom she married on April 16, 1966 in Covington, Kentucky; 1 brother inlaw, Howard "Shorty" Waugh of Cambridge City; 2 sons, Don (wife Gayle) Myers and Roger Myers; 3 daughters, Connie (husband Dave) Burns, Terry (husband Rodger) Wright and Karen (companion Dane Tyree) Mofield; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 5 nephews; 4 nieces. A funeral service conducted by Hazel's family will be at 1 p.m. on Monday May 16, 2011 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday May 15 at the funeral home.
