CAMBRIDGE CITY - Gloria M. (Maines) Jordan, 87, of Cambridge City passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Ambassador Health Care in Centerville. She was born on April 16, 1926 in Connersville to Walter Pete and Pauline M. (May) Maines. Gloria is a graduate of Harrisburg High School and has been a resident of the Cambridge City area for over 55 years and worked at Montgomery Ward in Richmond, Indiana. She enjoyed cross stich, crocheting, reading, playing cards, bowling, and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Virgil "Slats" Jordan, whom she married on December 24, 1945 in Connersville; children, Monte Ray (Verna) Jordan of Franklin, Indiana, Pauletta Mae (Terry) Jarvis of Dublin, Mona Lee (Bill) Lambert of Cambridge City; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul (Janie) Maines, Louie (Ruth) Maines both of Connersville; sister-in-law, Libby Maines of Anderson. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; a great-granddaughter; brothers, Junior Maines, Bradley Maines; sister, Ruth Gabbard. Family and friends may call at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Rev. Danny Berry will officiate. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Pershing.
