Gerald W. Strait, 80, of Connersville, IN passed away early Sunday morning, June 30 at his residence. He was born on June 5, 1939 in Connersville, IN, the son of Harry and Helen (Strothman) Strait.

Gerald served in the US. Air Force from the mid to late 1950's. He worked at Connersville Casket Co. and D&M Manufacturing until suffering a stroke.

He is survived by his children: Kaela (Jimmy) Paige of Hickory, NC, Jama (Kent) Fortman of Cambridge City, IN, Damon (Connie) Strait of Wood River, IL, Stacey (Matt) LaCovey of West Union, WV and Denver (Amanda) Strait of Cambridge City, IN; twelve grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; a sister Ruth Ann (Larry) Saxon of Brownsville, IN; brothers Ed Strait of Dublin, IN, Phil (Gene) Strait of Liberty, IN, and Morris (Linda) Strait of Centerville, IN and several nieces, nephews and former wife Reba (Skinner) Null.

The family has elected to have a private service at a later date. Cremation was selected and will be handled by Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home and Crematory Dublin, IN.
