Obituary

Retired Indiana National Bank A.V.P. passes George H. Wilson, 92, retired with 36 years of service from the former Indiana National Bank, Indianapolis, Indiana as A.V.P. of the cash department and armored car paying and receiving. He was a graduate of the New Cumberland High School and Thompson's Business College in New Cumberland, PA. He served as Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Force, 9th Troop Carrier Command from September 16, 1942 to January 30, 1946 based at Stout Field, Indianapolis, Indiana. George Henry Wilson was born on April 27, 1917 to G.W.H. Wilson and Sudie Brinton Wilson in New Cumberland, PA. His father was born in Philadelphia and his mother was born in York, PA. George was preceded in death by 2 brothers, James and Russell and 1 sister, Mary, all of New Cumberland, PA. He was married to Armilla Zix Wilson from 1946 to 1987 when she passed. He married Bee T. Butler Wilson in 1987. He resided in Ocala, Florida until Bee's passing in 2004. George lived at Raintree Square Apartments from 2004 to 2007, Glen Oaks Healthcare in 2007 both in New Castle, Indiana. Most recently at Parkwood Healthcare in Lebanon, Indiana from 2008 until his passing on June 13, 2009. He was a vested member 32nd degree of the Scottish Rite N.M.J. Valley of Indianapolis, member of the Southport Lodge #270 F&AM and the American Legion and V.F.W. George is survived by 2 sons- William F. (wife Esther) Wilson of Indianapolis and James G. (wife Beverly) Wilson of Knightstown; 4 grandchildren- Rachel of Indianapolis, Christopher (wife Donna) of Greenfield, Michael (fiance'e) Amanda Whorley) of Kendallville and Emily (husband Dan) Pyle of Bloomington; a great granddaughter- Cecilia, daughter of Chris and Donna; a brother inlaw- William ( companion Bobbie Hooker) Zix of Indianapolis; a niece- Jane (husband Robert) Rosenthal of Mechanicsburg, PA. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. on Tuesday June 16, 2009 at Flanner & Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Center, Indianapolis- 317-899-7115. Services will be officiated by George's daughter inlaw, Rev. Esther Wilson. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery- Section K / lot 422. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society- P.O. Box 689 / Columbus, IN 47202. The Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
