NEW CASTLE - Ralph E. "Gene" Worthington, 87, passed away Tuesday morning October 30, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. A son of the late Raymond and Kathlene (Nichols) Worthington, Gene was born in New Castle, Indiana on September 8, 1931. He was a graduate of New Castle High School. Gene was a Jehovah's Witness and attended the New Castle congregation. He enjoyed the ministry. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in New Castle in 1982 after 32 years of service. Gene was an amateur Ham Radio Operator, with the call sign, W9ZSC. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Judy (Myers) Worthington; 3 sons and their spouses, Arnold and Pam, Anthony and Kay, Chris and Paulette; 3 daughters and their spouses, Annette and Pat O'Neil, Kathy and Steve Ebbing, Ronda and David Stone; 21 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 siblings, Bill Worthington and Carolyn Riall.

Gene was preceded in death a brother, Jim Worthington; 5 grandsons; 6 granddaughters.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday November 2, 2018 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 – 8 p.m. on Thursday November 1st.
