DUNREITH - Cletis Eugene "Gene" Rivers of Dunreith, passed away on Wednesday March 8, 2017. A son of the late Forest and Alma (Hamm) Rivers, Gene was born on October 20, 1928 in Upper Tygart, Kentucky. Gene enjoyed working in his garden, hunting and fishing with friends. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and retired from Chrysler in 1981. Gene is survived by his children, Diana (Carl) Boss, Larry (Cindy) Rivers, and Steve (Lesley) Rivers; grandchildren, Travis Rivers, Trish Mastin, Traci Linville, Troy Rivers, Rob Boss, Emily Butera, Chloe Rivers, Brevan Rivers, Hailey Rivers and Kamdyn Rivers; great grandchildren, Lydia, Korbin, Katen, Tyler, Gabe and Grace; brother, Millard (Ray) Rivers; 2 sisters, Opal Bowling and Barbara Henson.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 60 years, Barbara J. (Stone) Rivers on December 14, 2015; brothers, Armel Rivers, Arnold Rivers, Pete Rivers, Frank Rivers, Floyd Rivers, Forest Rivers, and Orbie Rivers; sisters, Marie Prescott, Sarah Hamilton and Lena Rivers.

Private services will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Marshall and Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Burial will follow in Lewisville Cemetery.
