Obituary

CAMBRIDGE CITY - Franklin Shank, 64, of Cambridge City, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home, early Tuesday morning March 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 20, 1959, in New Castle, Indiana, to the late Robert and Barbara (Christian) Shank.

Franklin graduated from Lincoln High School in 1978 and worked at Converto for 29 years until his retirement in 2022. He married the love of his life, the former Rosalea M. Giardelli, on August 4, 1978. They shared 45 wonderful years together. He was a devoted father to Frankie Shank (Erin Hamm) and Jackie Onstott (Jesse Onstott), and a proud grandfather to Dakota Onstott and his other grandchildren Damien Hamm (Heather), Dominique Pitcher and Morgan Pitcher and several great grandbabies.

Frank loved camping, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family and friends. He had a warm smile and a kind heart that touched the lives of so many. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Rosie; his children, Frankie and Jackie; His grand and great grandchildren; siblings Bonnie Rose, David Shank (Toni Shank), Beverly (Chad) Corn, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda White, brother-in-law, Micheal Rose; and his niece, Shannon Rose

Visitation for Franklin will be Thursday, March 7th from 4-7 p.m. at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial will be at a future date at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City.
