CAMBRIDGE CITY - Frank E. Blevins, 89, of Cambridge City passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Henry County Hospital in New Castle. A son of the late Gwyn and Lola (Hamm) Blevins, Frank was born on August 21, 1925 in New Castle. He graduated from Hagerstown High School with the class of 1943. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. Frank was a television and machine repairman and retired from DANA Corporation in 1987 after 30 years of service. He was Past Post Commander of the Hagerstown American Legion Post #333, member of the American Legion Post #338 in Dublin, VFW, 40 & 8, and the Hagerstown RC Club. In his leisure, Frank enjoyed fishing, golf, and flying RC planes. Survivors include his children, Timothy Wayne (Deborah) Blevins of Auburn, Indiana, Tony Lee (Tina) Blevins of Hagerstown, Paula Ann VanHook of Connersville; 7 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; long time companion, Charlene Smith; siblings, Ted Blevins of Hagerstown, Mary Louise (Kenny) Cowen of New Castle, Madge Thompson of Noblesville. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Blevins. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev. Ron Coleman and Rev. Robert Fannin will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Brick Cemetery in Hagerstown.
