Knightstown: Florence Lavohn "AUNTY" Reger, 98, a 30 year resident of Knightstown, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday October, 3, 2009 at the Brandywine Nursing Home in Greenfield. She was born on September 29, 1911 in rural Hancock County, IN the daughter of Robert B. and Verna Bessie (Morris) Jackson. On March 17, 1934 in Cumberland IN, she married Arlie C. Reger whom preceded her in death on December 4, 1981. Florence lived an amazing life serving Jesus Christ, her Savior. She evangelized for Christ even in CrownPoint where she resided in assisted living for two years, and while in Brandywine Nursing Home on four different times rehabiblitating after two broken hips and pneumonia until her voice was silenced by a stroke in early September. Florence graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1929 and was hired at Delco Remy in Anderson, that same month; Florence contenued to working there until the end of WWII. She worked briefly in dietary services at Hancock Memorial Hospital a few years before retiring. Florence was a long time member of the Shirley Friends Church. Surviving relatives include 2 nieces; Judy Jackson (husband Randy) Grass of Greenfield and Terri Jackson (husband Larry) Sulek of Indianapolis, 3 nephews; Jerry D. Jackson of Clearwater, FL, Jim (wife Sandy) Jackson of Shirley and Roy Gene Reger of Markleville. She was preceded in death by, parents, husband of 47 years, 2 brothers,Morris and Robert M. Jackson. Services will be Friday October 9, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Shirley, with Pastor Jim Jackson will officate the service. Burial will follow at the Harlan Cemetery in North of Shirley. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday October 8, 2009 at the funeral home
