CAMBRIDGE CITY- Eva Stewart, 95, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon February 10, 2016 in Cambridge City, Indiana at the home of her daughter Joyce. A daughter of the late Merida and Mallie (Williams) Smith, Eva was born in Kentucky on March 18, 1920. Eva has made her home in the Cambridge City community for over 70 years. A devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, Eva assisted her late husband Owen in the family business, Stewart's Plumbing and Heating. She was affectionately known as "Grandma" by her grandkids and their friends. She enjoyed cooking and baking and will be remembered for her Italian spaghetti. In her leisure, Eva enjoyed gardening and camping with her daughter Joyce and son in-law Charlie. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include 4 children, Joyce (Charles) Miller and Betty (Paul) Wesseler both of Cambridge City, Robert (Barbara) Stewart of Connersville and Rebecca Stewart of Richmond; 8 grandchildren, Jamie Wesseler, Terri Orndorff, Lisa McClain, Mark Wesseler, Brian Stewart, Scott and Robb Miller and Dorothy Castle; 22 great grandchildren which include, Syndey and Rebecca Miller, Ivy Dennebaum, Ashlynn and Nolan Miller, Lily Dennebaum, Addy and Jaydyn Miller; 9 great- great grandchildren; 2 half -sisters, Maude Moon and Thelma Johnson; 1 half -brother, Merida Smith. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Eugene Stewart on April 4, 1986. They were married in Mt. Auburn on August 14, 1937.; 1 great grandson, Patrick Ryan Wesseler on January 25, 2014; 2 sisters, Leona Davidson and Ellen Smith. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m. on Monday February 15, 2016 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Pastor Jim Noggle will officiate. Burial will follow at the South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin.
