DUBLIN- Ethel Mae Wallen, 89, passed away Monday evening November 16, 2015 at Ambassador Healthcare in Centerville, Indiana. A daughter of the late Ed and Frona (Koger) Jones, Ethel was born in Wayne County, Kentucky on May 7, 1926. Ethel has made her home in the Dublin community for many years and retired in 1991 from Balance Line Casket in Cambridge City after 21 years of service. She was a member of the Do Gooders Club and the Dublin Missionary Baptist Church. In her leisure, she enjoyed watching NASCAR, growing flowers and feeding birds. Survivors include her 3 sons, Gene (Joanne) Wallen of Dublin, Danny Wallen of Myrtle Beach, S. Carolina and Donald Wallen of Richmond; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Cecila Roberts of Kentucky; brother, Parker (Lucille) Denny of Pershing; nieces and nephews. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Frank S. "Shorty" Wallen, on December 21, 1998. They were married in Winfall, Indiana on July 25, 1942. Sister, Dorothy Edwards; brother, Amos Jones; brother-in-law, Darell Roberts. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev. Jim Noggle will officiate. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery, Dublin.
