DUBLIN- Emma Mae Stewart, 96, passed away on Saturday morning October 8, 2011 at the home of her niece Kathy in Cambridge City. A lifelong resident of the Dublin community, Emma was born here on June 8, 1915 to the late Edward R. and Lucy G. (Onley) Stewart. Emma attended school in Straughn and by being the oldest of 10 children, devoted much of her life helping to raise her siblings and then her nieces and nephews, " You could always count on Aunt Emma". Emma worked as an inspector and retired from DANA Corporation at Hagerstown in 1975 after 34 years of service. She was a member of the Cambridge City Nazarene Church for more than 45 years and has recently attended the New Life Holliness Chapel in Hagerstown with her nephew Todd. Survivors include many nieces and nephews including care providers, niece, Kathy Suttles; nephew, Todd Suttles; Brenda Suttles-Krick and Carol Gosser. Emma was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Shirley Ann Stewart, Christina Suttles, Eva Gustafson and Juanita Miller; 5 brothers, Owen, Forrest, Everett, Rev. Carl and Ray Stewart. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services at 2 p.m. on Thursday October 13, 2011 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev. Lester Rowan will officiate. Burial will follow at the South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin.
