CAMBRIDGE CITY- Emma Jean Brown, 82, passed away on Thursday evening August 8, 2013 at Friends Fellowship Community in Richmond, Indiana. A daughter of the late William and Anna Belle (Scharf) Heuser, Emma Jean was born in Ramsey (Harrison County), Indiana on December 31, 1930. Emma Jean graduated from Ridgeville High School with the class of 1948 and attended Indiana Business College in Muncie. Formerly of Randolph County, Emma Jean moved to Bentonville in 1948 and has made her home in Cambridge City since 1983. She had worked for McQuay-Norris and American Kitchens before beginning her employment with Dresser Industries on January 5, 1959, she retired from there in 1996 after 37 years of service. She was a member of the Hagerstown Eastern Star #196. Emma Jean married Elmer S. Brown at the Bentonville Christian Church on September 2, 1950. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1985. A cousin, George Rosebarger and sister in-laws, Catherine Cooper and Mary Stratton also precede her in death. Survivors include her cousin, Anna May and ( "Jeep") Sandage of Lebanon, TN; brothers and sisters in-law, Thelma (Junior) Smith of Bentonville, Sharon (Phil) Mahoney of Connersville, David (Susan) Brown of Bentonville, Eugene (Joyce) Brown of Lewisville; several nieces, nephews; great and great- great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday August 13, 2013 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Pastor Phil Mahoney will officiate. Burial will follow at the Bentonville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday August 12 and prior to the services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Asera Care Hospice- 4427 Garwood Place/ Richmond, IN 47374. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
