Elizabeth "Liz" Lakes, 64, of Cambridge City, passed away on Wednesday evening May 23, 2012 at the Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. A daughter of the late Andy "Pete" and Lois M. (Grim) Pitcher, Liz was born in Richmond, Indiana on July 13, 1947. Liz graduated from the Centerville High School and had lived there before moving to Cambridge City. A devoted mother, Liz loved to spend time with her family. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. Survivors include 1 son, James A. Lakes of Centerville; 3 daughters, Dawn M. Lakes of Buffalo, IN, Amy L. Kilbourn of Centerville and Jennifer S. Pierce of Cambridge City; 10 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 1 sister, Sandra L. Hobbs of Richmond; nieces and nephews. Liz was preceded in death by her father on March 5, 2010; her mother on August 26, 1986; her brother, Robert E. Pitcher on September 26, 2010 and her sister inlaw, Barbara K. Pitcher on May 18, 2010. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. on Saturday May 26, 2012 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev. Danny Berry of the Cambridge City Christian Church will officiate. Burial will follow at the Zion's Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing.
