LAUREL- Edgar Paul Frye, 79, passed away Saturday evening October 3, 2015 at his home while surrounded by his loving family. A son of the late Lanseford and Elizabeth "Bessie" (Napier) Frye, Edgar was born in Jackson County, Kentucky on January 23, 1936. Formerly of Dunreith, Henry County, Indiana, he has made his home in rural Laurel since 2010. Edgar had worked as a painter at D & M in Connersville and after its closing was employed by M.E.G. in Cambridge City as a press brake operator until his retirement. In his leisure, Edgar enjoyed riding horses, as a jockey and also for pleasure, hunting, fishing, taking walks outside in nature and reading. He was very proud of his family. Survivors include 4 children, Betty Susan Thunder and Sammy Lee Frye both of Argonne, WI, Rhonda Lee Frye of Greensburg and Nicole Frye of Rushville; 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his companion, Laurel Nash; 3 brothers, John Frye of Connersville, Herman Frye of Hope and Jim Milburn of Laurel; nieces and nephews. Edgar was preceded in death by his infant son, Edgar Paul Frye Jr. (twin to Sammy) on August 30, 1963; 1 brother, Silas Frye; 2 sisters, Goldie York and Gertie Raines; the mother of his children, Darlene J. (York) Frye on September 19, 2015 Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the start of Memorial Services at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday October 10, 2015 at the Family Worship Center in Blooming Grove. Pastor Tom Marshall will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at the Laurel North Cemetery in Laurel.
