Cambridge City- Earlene Esther Ervin, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening June 10, 2009 at the Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle after being saved two years ago. A daughter of the late Francis and Ida Cox Lemons, Earlene was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on April 1, 1923. She had lived in Mt. Summit before moving to Cambridge City 41 years ago. A loving wife and mother, Earlene had worked at Brooks Canning Factory in Mt Summit. Survivors include 3 children- Tom (Marilyn) Ervin of Straughn, Gail (Robert) Haler of Cambridge City, Ed (Lora) Ervin of Pershing; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. Earlene was preceded in death by her husband H. Lynn Ervin on May 13, 1992. They were married in 1940; 1 daughter- Patricia Neel on March 14, 2008; 1 grandson; 1 great grandson; 4 brothers; 2 sisters. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday June 15, 2009 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday June 14 at the funeral home.
