Centerville: Doris L. Thornburg, 73, of Centerville, passed away early Sunday morning March 7, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Pershing. The daughter of the late Daniel Thomas and Dicie (Hughes) Marlar, she was born on May 15, 1936 in McCreary County, Kentucky. She married William P. Thornburg on July 2, 1971 in Richmond ,Indiana. Formerly of the Cambridge City and Pershing community, Doris has lived most of her life in Wayne County and in Centerville for the past 6 years. , she enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Surviving relatives include 5 daughters, Tomma L. (Gene) Kates of Centerville, Rancetta Maiden of Centerville, Sheila M. (Steve) Mills of Pershing, Telia A. (Phil) McQueen of Pershing and Karen Sheen of Denver, CO; 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Lou Gertie Moore of Richmond, several nieces & nephews. Doris was preceeded in death by her husband William P. Thornburg on February 10, 1997; son-in-law, Ronald Maiden on October 3, 2004; 4 brothers, Martin, Harvey, Harry and Charles Marlar, 3 sisters, Lucy Mullins, Alphie Chasteen and Leitha Marlar. Services will be Wednesday March 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin, with Rev. Larry Horn officiating the service. Burial will follow at the Zion's Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing. Visitataion will be Wednesday March 10, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
