CAMBRIDGE CITY - Donna Jean Rihm, 89, passed away early Sunday morning March 30, 2014 at her home in Cambridge City. A daughter of the late Carl Robert and Hazel Maude (Clifton) Butler, Donna was born in Henry County, Indiana on February 28, 1925. Donna has lived most of her life in the Cambridge City community and was a 1944 graduate of Lincoln High School. She worked as a welder at International Harvester during World War II. A homemaker, Donna enjoyed baking cookies, making raspberry jelly, homemade noodles and dumplings. She was especially famous for her yeast rolls. Donna was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and Alter Society, Daughters of Isabella- Connersville, Liberty American Legion Auxillary Unit 122. Donna enjoyed playing euchre and was a member of several card clubs in Cambridge City, Hagerstown and Connersville.
Survivors include her husband, Walter F. Rihm whom she married at the St. Elizabeth Church on November 27, 1947 by Fr. Jerome Bennett; 7 children, James F. (Patricia) Rihm, Donald A. (Linda K.) Rihm, Gerald L. (Angela) Rihm, Joanna Schrader, Linda (Marvin) Vance, Brian K. (Youngran) Rihm and Elaine K. Rihm; 20 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Barbara (Gene) Huddleston and Janet Monger; nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Phyllis Jean; brothers, Donald C., Claude R., Horace, Carl Jr. and Jack Butler; sisters, Margarette Henry and Doris Loomis; 2 infant great granddaughters, Madison Rihm and Madalynn Paige Vance.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9 a.m. on Wednesday April 2, 2014 at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Fr. Joseph Rautenberg will officiate. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Visitation will begin with a Rosary service at noon on Tuesday April 1st and continue until 8 p.m. at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin.
