LEWISVILLE- Donna L. Gauker, 73, passed away on Tuesday evening February 28, 2012 at the Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Indiana. A daughter of the late Fred and Goldie (Scott) Mohler, Donna was born in Lewisville, Indiana on February 10, 1939. A lifelong Lewisville resident, Donna graduated from high school there with the class of 1957. She moved to New Castle following the death of her husband. She retired from the New Castle State Hospital in 1997 after 28 years of service in patient care. Donna was a devoted mother and loving grandma who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Merry 12 Euchre Club and the Moose Lodge at New Castle and enjoyed playing BINGO, board games and fishing. Survivors include 4 children, Sheila DeWitt of Somerset, KY, Bud (Penny) Gauker of New Castle, Jim (Stephanie) Gauker of Mount Blanchard, OH and Scott Gauker of New Castle; 7 grandchildren, Laney (Brandyn) Cox, Kacie (fianc'e Eric) Gauker, Paige, Kamryn and Karley Gauker , Jason and Justin DeWitt; 2 great grandsons, Noah and Brody; 1 sister, Hazel Huffman of New Castle; special pet, Teddy; several nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her husband Melvin L. Gauker on May 1, 2005; son in-law Steven L. DeWitt on November 9, 1998; 4 brothers, Charlie, Harold, Fred Jr. and Bob Mohler. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday March 4, 2012 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville. Rev. Marion L. Hickman will officiate. Burial will follow at the Lewisville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday March 3 at the funeral home.
