MILTON - Donna Jean Calkins, 85, passed away Sunday morning August 26, 2018 at her home in rural Milton. A daughter of the late Donald and Winifred (Bryan) Thistlethwaite, Donna was born in Richmond, Indiana on October 11, 1932. She was a graduate of Richmond High School with the class of 1950 and lived in Santa Barbara, California for many years. Donna was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart. She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and playing the slot machines.

Survivors include, 2 daughters, Lori (Chester) Sparks of Milton and Sheri Clark of Connersville; 8 grandchildren and their spouses; 12 great grandchildren; her faithful canine companion, Maddie; 1 brother, Bryan Scott (Melissa) Wilson; 1 niece, Emily (Josh) Kendall; 1 nephew, Ryan Wilson all of Richmond.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Calkins on January 12, 2001. They were married in Richmond on January 26, 1952; 1 son, David Michael Calkins on December 27, 2015; step father, Harry A. Wilson and an infant half-sister.

A casual come as you are graveside service will be held at noon on Sunday September 9, 2018 at Abington Cemetery.
