SPICELAND - Donald E. Stevens, 77, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Saint Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born on July 25, 1935 in New Castle to Estell and Electia Edna (Smith) Stevens. Donald was a 1955 graduate of Lewisville High School. On June 10, 1956 he married Betty J. Conley in Anderson, Indiana. Donald served his country in the United States National Guard. He was an electrician, retiring from Gaylor Electric in Carmel, Indiana in 2000. He was fond of the cowboy way of life and enjoyed singing, playing musical instruments, horses, tractors. Donald was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in New Castle and the Lewisville Masonic Lodge #72. Survivors include his wife of 56 years; children, Donna Jo (Gregory) Phipps of New Castle, Dennis A. (Judy) Stevens of Spiceland, Diana Stevens of Anderson, Deena (Bradley) White of New Castle; grandchildren, James Phipps, Katey Phipps, Callie (Eric) Yanos, Cassie Stevens (fiancé Marc Concannon), Jesse Scott, Clay Scott, Rachel White (Josh) Conner, Ben White; great-grandchild, Dylan Yanos; brother, Everett "Shady" Stevens of New Castle; sister, Shirley Newton of Greenfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Berniece Nash, Evelyn Hall; two brothers, Phillip and Roger Stevens. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville. Donald's nephew, Pastor Brent Hickman, will officiate. Burial will follow at the Lewisville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2013 at the funeral home.
