CONNERSVILLE - Richard "Dick" L. Stevens, 79, of rural Connersville passed away Wednesday morning at Henry County Hospital in New Castle. He was born on March 11, 1934 to Hershal and Rachel (Petry) Stevens in Wayne County. After graduating high school, Dick served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea as a radio operator. Soon after returning home, he married the former Jenny Clark on December 13, 1958 at Jacksonburg Christian Church. Dick was an active farmer in the community, served several terms on the Fayette County Farm Bureau Board and attended Bentonville Christian Church. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and caring for his dogs. Survivors include his wife, Jenny; children Julie (Lloyd) Stamper of Cambridge City, John (Chrystie) Stevens of Milton, Joseph Stevens of Straughn, Jerald Stevens and Richie Stevens both of Cambridge City; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother Samuel Stevens of New Madison, Ohio; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013 with the service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Don Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Jacksonburg Cemetery.
