Richmond- Dennis R. Mackey, 55, passed away on Saturday August 29, 2009 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. A son of the late George and Violet Goodwin Mackey Sr., Dennis was born in Richmond, Indiana on February 17, 1954. A lifelong Richmond resident, Dennis worked in sales for Allied Broadcasting of Richmond, now Harris Broadcasting of Mason, Ohio. Dennis enjoyed music and playing guitar. He performed with R & R Express and the 220 Band. Dennis loved to fly remote control airplanes and was a member of the Richmond Prop - Busters. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, the former Joyce A. Rhoades. They were married in Richmond on May 8, 1993. 2 daughters- Angela (Bill) Tracy and Christina (Jack) Wampler both of Richmond; 2 step sons- Leland (Crystal) Pegg of Columbus, OH and Jim Johnson of Richmond; 8 grandchildren- Ashley Michael, Courtney Tracy, Krystin and Chasity Wampler, Karissa Tracy, Gwindilyn Johnson , Kelly and Dixie Pegg; 3 brothers- Kenneth Mackey Sr. and Ronald Mackey Sr. both of Richmond, James Mackey of Williamsburg; 1 sister- Diane Rader of Richmond; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. He was preceded in death by a brother George Mackey Jr.; sister Cynthia "Cindy" Shull; nephew- Terry Mackey. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. till the time of services at 7 p.m. on Wednesday September 2, 2009 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Pastor Jack Hines will officiate. Cremation will follow.
