NEW CASTLE, IND. - Delores Della Sarah O'Dell, 87, New Castle, and formerly of Shelburn and Westphalia, passed away Sept. 30, 2015, at her residence. A daughter of the late Edgar and Lillie (Wehmeier) Kixmiller, Delores was born July 10, 1928, in Westphalia. On March 15, 1947, she married Cecil E. O'Dell in Westphalia. For many years, Delores worked at J.C. Penney, Vincennes, and was a member of the Salem Church of Christ, Westphalia. She enjoyed painting portraits, playing bingo and growing flowers. For the last three years, Delores has made her residence in the Henry County area. Delores is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil E. O'Dell, who died Sept. 23, 2009; her daughter-in-law, Dea Ann O'Dell, who died Jan. 23, 2012; and her son-in-law, Ronald Bell, who died Oct. 23, 2012. Survivors include her children, Penny Lou Bell, Cambridge City, Sidney (and Darcy) O'Dell, Sullivan, and Robert (and Michelle) O'Dell, Shadyside, Ohio; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Pat Michalos, Vincennes. A graveside service for Delores will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Salem Cemetery, Westphalia, with the Rev. Rick Swan officiating.
