New Castle – Deborah Ann Matthews, 70, passed away the morning of May 16th, 2019 at The Waters of New Castle. Deborah was born on August 20th, 1948 in New Castle, Indiana to the late John Henry and Amanda E. "Mick" (Whitton) Medler.  Formerly of Muncie, Debbie had lived in Arizona and Michigan before returning to New Castle.  She had done clerical work in the healthcare industry.

Deborah is preceded in death by her parents, and half-brother, Dennis.

Survivors include her husband of 11 years, Billy Gene Matthews, whom she married on November 20th, 2007 in New Castle; 2 children, Matthew Patterson, Shane Miller; 2 step children,  Brian Gene Matthews and Melissa Mieth; 5 grandchildren; 1 brother, Jack.

Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday May 21, 2019 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Following visitation, a graveside service officiated by Rev. Shane Miller will take place at South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin.
