DUNREITH- Dean Winkhart, 61, passed away February 10, 2017 at his home in Dunreith. Dean was born in New Castle, Indiana on April 24, 1955. He was a lifelong resident of the Dunreith/Spiceland area and graduated from Tri High School with the class of 1973. Dean had worked for Chrysler Corporation as a machine operator until his retirement do to health reasons. Dean was an avid table tennis player and was the founder of the Spiceland Table Tennis Association. He also raced stock cars at Mt. Lawn and Anderson, was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed motorcycle racing and all motor sports. Survivors include his mother, Betty June (Fine) Winkhart of New Castle; 3 children, Jody Chiarotti of Indianapolis, Ryan (Jaime) Winkhart of Plainfield and Lindsey Winkhart of Indianapolis; 4 grandchildren, Trenton Winkhart, Asher Wright, Lexi and Ty Chiarotti; 3 siblings, Ladona (Jerry) Cash, Russell Jr. and Barry Winkhart all of Spiceland; nieces, nephews and cousins. Dean was preceded in death by his father Russell Winkhart Sr. on November 12, 2007 and 8 year old sister, Kristy Rene Winkhart. Visitation will be at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel from 1 p.m. until the time of Memorial Services at 3 p.m. on Saturday February 18, 2017. Rob Ammerman will officiate. Burial will follow at the Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland.
