RICHMOND - David Allen Erk, 61, of Richmond passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 14, 2015 at his residence. A son of Vernon and Helen (Bryant) Erk, David was born in New Castle, Indiana on November 15, 1953. He was a 1972 graduate of Richmond High School and earned an Associate Degree from Ivy Tech. David served his country in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic before receiving his honorable discharge in 1977. David was employed at Belden Wire for over 25 years and as a part time associate at Auto Zone in Richmond. He was a member of the Alliance Bible Church in Richmond. In his leisure, David enjoyed restoring antique cars and attending car shows. Survivors include his wife, the former Linda Breeden whom he married on June 21, 1980 in Richmond; two sons, Brentt and Kyle (wife Brittney) all of Richmond; grandsons, Corbyn and Ryder; brothers, Richard (wife Susan) of Tennessee, Robert (wife Karen) of Muncie, Indiana; sister, Cheryl of Richmond; special friends, Gary Jones of Ohio, Bryce Martin of Richmond. David was preceded in death by his mother; brother-in-law, Charlie. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, 1993 Cumberland Street, Dublin, Indiana. Susan Yanos will officiate. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery, Dublin. Family and friends may visit from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the funeral home.
