DUBLIN- David Arlen Cushing, 83, passed away Thursday afternoon January 12, 2023 at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana.  A son of the late Jesse and Dorothy (Mullen) Cushing, David was born in Cambridge City, Indiana on March 25, 1939.  David was raised in Cambridge City, and following his graduation from Lincoln High School in1957, he enlisted in the United States Army.  After three years of service in the Army, David then enlisted in the United States Navy and served another eighteen years, retiring after twenty-one years of service to our country.  David then worked as a substance abuse counselor at Richmond State Hospital for fifteen years.  In his leisure, David enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, gardening, camping, mushroom hunting and leathercrafting.

Survivors include 2 sons, Dustin (wife, Marsha) of Richmond and Scott (wife, Patricia) of Greens Fork; 5 grandchildren, Clayton, Carlie, Claira, Cayla and Charlotte "Charlie" Cushing; 1 sister, Sue Miller.  David was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Cushing.

Following cremation at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin, a memorial visitation will be held here from 2 p.m. until the time of Military Honors at 4 p.m. on Saturday January 21, 2023.
