ALBANY - Daniel L. Golliher, 82, of Albany, Indiana passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 16, 2016 at IU Ball Hospital in Muncie. A son of the late Percy W. and Blon (Cook) Golliher, Daniel was born in Muncie on December 31, 1933. He was a 1952 graduate of Stoney Creek High School in Randolph County. A United States Army Veteran, Daniel served his country during the Korean conflict. Daniel farmed in Randolph County, Farmland, Parker City, Losantville and Modoc. A former Lewisville resident, Daniel was a Dixon Lawn Mower dealer for over 14 years and drove a semi truck for Marsh Supermarket, retiring in 1995. Daniel enjoyed playing basketball during his high school years and was a lifelong IU fan. He loved watching his grand and great-grandchildren play sports. Survivors include his wife, the former Carol Sue Burke whom he married on September 24, 2010 at DeSoto United Methodist Church; children, David Allen Golliher, Lora Lynn Kibler; special nephew, Jay (Margo) Swingley; step-children, Diana (Larry) Bradbury, Kay (Tom) Jinnings, Ronnie (Judy) Burke; grandchildren, Chris (Tami) Toney, Shawn (Kelly) Kibler, Ben (Kate) Kibler, Daniel Kibler, Kevin (Tacha) Golliher, Amber Golliher, Dustin Golliher, Shelly Swoveland, Jeremy (Jill) Bradbury, Becky (Tyce) Stebbins, Mary (Gerald) Atkins, Erin (Jason) Rogers, Angela (Tim) Ice, Leslie (Brett) Sander, Lori (Todd) Chester, Lisa (Darren) Carroll; 31 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Howard. Daniel was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Golliher on March 3, 2009; infant twin grandsons, David & Devon Golliher in 1987; sisters, Ruth Stradling, Ada Stiles, Roberta Cross; brother, Herschel Locke. Following cremation, a memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 26, 2016 at DeSoto United Methodist Church, 6309 N County Road 500 E, Muncie, IN 47303. Rev. Frank Oakman will officiate. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery, Farmland.
