CAMBRIDGE CITY - Connie R. Hockersmith, 64, passed away Tuesday morning June 26, 2012 at her home in Cambridge City, Indiana. Connie was born in Wayne County, Indiana on June 3, 1948. A 1966 graduate of Lincoln High School, she went on to receive her Associates Degree in Business from Ivy Tech in Richmond. Connie served in management positions for McDonald's Corporation in Shelby County, Indiana for over twenty years before her retirement. She moved back to the Cambridge City community two years ago. Connie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Survivors include four children, Jodi Bullard of Shelbyville, David Nickel of Cambridge City, Carl R. Nickel of Rushville, and Diane Bennett of Connersville; thirteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Also survived are two brothers, Brian Griffith of Cambridge City, Steven Griffith of Centerville; three sisters Carol Rhodus and Debbie Harris both of Hagerstown, and Lori Samms of Cambridge City. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, George Griffith and Arlene (Dean) Hayes, and a grandaughter Emily Bennett. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev. Tom Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Westside Cemetery, Milton. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. on Friday, June 29 at the funeral home.
