NEW CASTLE, Claude Earl Purvis, 83,of New Castle, passed away on Thursday February 7, 2013 at Parkview Nursing Center in Muncie, Indiana. He was born in Farmers, Kentucky on August 14, 1929 and worked on the Russell Batson farm near Straughn for 35 years. Survivors include his wife Betty (Lawrence) Poston of New Castle; 3 children, Becky (Frank) Lamberson of Dublin, Charlie Purvis and Mike Purvis of New Castle; 7 grandchildren: 1 great grandchild. Claude was preceded in death by by his father Charlie E. Purvis on June 11, 1991; mother, Maude L. (Poston) Purvis on September 11, 2001; 2 brothers, Donnie Ray and Edgar Purvis. Following cremation at the Eastern Indiana Crematory in Lewisville, a Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday February 14, 2013 at Grand Avenue Baptist Church, 2910 Grand Ave.- New Castle, IN 47362.
