LEWISVILLE- Clarence Fletcher of ZephyrhilIs, Florida and formerly of New Castle and Lewisville, Indiana, passed away at the age of 96 on May 5, 2016. The son of the late Paul Dewitt and Rachael (Test) Fletcher, Clarence was born on November 29, 1919 in Lewisville, Indiana. Survivors include three children. JaneAnn (Dr. Charles) Pippenger of Burlington, Vermont, David (Patsy) Fletcher of Prior Lake, Minnesota, and Nancy (Steve) Merritt of Kingwood, Texas; grandchildren, Dr. Michael (Andrea) Pippenger, Geoffrey (Tedin) Pippenger, Teresa Brooks Welsh, Richard (Shannon) Brooks, Sue (Dave) Jacob, John (Jen) Fletcher, Dr. Deborah (Dr. Adam Mitchell) Merritt, and Michelle (Mark) Morrow, and 16 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by Janice Heck Fletcher, his wife for 65 years; 2 sisters, Ruth Smalley and Mary Louise Rummel; daughter, Marilyn Fletcher Brooks. Clarence farmed the family farm in Lewisville, Indiana for many years before moving to New Castle, Indiana where he was manager of a retail paint store. He was very active in Ebenezer Presbyterian Church as deacon and elder. Clarence lived in Zephyrhills, Florida for 32 years. He was a member of Dade City Christian Church. Clarence's ministry involved visiting and comforting those in the hospital. He loved spending time with his family and his wonderful friends. Memorial Visitation will be held at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, 115 West U.S. Hwy. 40, Lewisville, IN 47352 on Saturday July 23, 2016 from noon until 2 p.m.. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Lewisville Cemetery with Reverends Peter Zinn and Arthur Whitaker officiating.
