NEW PALESTINE - Christina Ann Basso, 65, of New Palestine passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 at I.U. Health Hospital in Indianapolis. A daughter of the late Lenville and Ida Alice (Penrose) Hale, Christina was born on February 11, 1948 in Columbus, Indiana. Formerly of Cambridge City, she moved to the Indianapolis-Greenwood area in 1974. On June 10, 1975 she married Raymond W. Basso in Lawrence, Indiana. Christina was a nurse for Community South and Wishard Hospitals for many years. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, cooking, and collecting antiques and Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Steven Reeves of Indianapolis, Michael Reeves of Orlando, Florida, Roman Basso of Fairland, Indiana, Jeremy (Angela) Basso of Fairland; seven grandchildren; a sister, Rosie Chaplin of Columbus, Indiana. Christina was preceded in death by her father on September 17, 2009; mother on May 12, 2000; three brothers, Phillip Smith on March 5, 1997, Timmy Hale on March 1, 1997 and Richie Hale. Funeral services will be at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, 1993 Cumberland Street, Dublin, Indiana 47335 on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing.
