CAMBRIDGE CITY-  Christal Day, 77, formerly of Cambridge City, passed away Friday evening February 4, 2022 at University of Kentucky, Albert B. Chandler Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.  A daughter of the late Farris and Elsie (Smith) Hellard, Christal was born in New Castle, Indiana on July 26, 1944.  She lived most of her life in the Cambridge City community and graduated from White's Institute in Wabash, Indiana.  She married Danny LeRoy Day in Logansport, Indiana on November 22, 1962.  A homemaker, Christal also worked in area factories and healthcare facilities.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She has made her home near her children in Orlando, Kentucky since 2003.  In her leisure, Christal enjoyed playing bingo, fishing and any time spent with her family.

Survivors include her 3 children, Danita Bond, Amy and Jimmy Day; 1 grandson, Dustin Day; 1great granddaughter, Katie Day; 3 siblings, Joyce Moore, Judith Caldwell and Dudley Hellard. Christal was preceded in death by her husband Danny on September 8, 2003.

Private burial services will be at South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin.  Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
