Obituary

Dublin: Charles Everett Davis, 76, of Dublin, passed away Friday September 18, 2009 at Reid Hospital. He was born on May 10, 1933 in Ashland, Indiana. the son of James Washington and Anna Elizabeth (Stephens) Davis. Everett married Monica (Gray) Davis in New Castle Indiana. on October 10, 1953 and they lived in Dublin for the past 56 years. Everett retired from the Dana Corp. in September of 1995 after 35 years of service, he was a Maintance Supervisor. Everett served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #5 of Cambridge City, Hagerstown American Legion Post # 333 and the Dublin Gospel Mission Church. He played music for years with his band Charlie Davis and The Music Makers. Charles was a avid NASCAR fan, and was a drag racer in the 1960's. He built his own late model stock car called Seven come Eleven. Everett enjoyed fishing and spending time on his house boat in Nashville, Tennessee. Survivors include, his wife of 55 years Monica (Gray) Davis of Dublin, 3 sons; Steve Davis of Dublin, Mark Davis of Hagerstown and Lloyd (wife Becky) Davis of Dublin, a special person Jay Lamoncha, 2 grandchildren; Matthew (wife Tamra) Davis and Jaclyn Davis, 3 great-grandchildren; Allyssa, Christian and Greysen Davis, brother Steve Davis of New Castle, 2 sisters; Rosemary Latham of New Castle and Irene Meyer of Hagerstown, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by parents, 2 brothers; James "Floyd" and Gene Davis Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday September 23, 2009 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin, with burial to follow at the South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin. Military Honors will be performed by the Hagerstown American Legion Post # 333. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday September 22, 2009 at the funeral home, with a Masonics service at 7:30 p.m. by the Masonic Lodge # 5.
