CAMBRIDGE CITY- Carmody Arlen Kegley, 79, passed away early Thursday morning August 11, 2016 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. A son of the late James Luther and Dessie Mae (Eldridge) Kegley, Carmody was born in Sharkey, Rowan County, Kentucky on July 21, 1937. Formerly of Centerville, he moved to Cambridge City as a senior in high school and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1956. Carmody worked as an engineer for H & H Robertson and Connersville Engineering Services. Following his retirement, Carmody continued to work part time for H.P.H. Engineering, Arrow Metals and Fred's Pharmacy in New Castle. He was a member of the Cambridge City Christian Church and in his leisure, enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his family, especially the grandkids. Survivors include his wife, the former Shelby Jean Keihn. They were married in Greenfield on December 9, 1961. 2 daughters, Julia (Jerry) Henderson and Brenda (Mark) Stewart both of Cambridge City; 6 grandchildren, Arlen (Dana) Henderson, Michael Ames, Arleen (Chris) Voght, Sarah (Kyle) King, Bradley Ames and Matthew (Danielle) Ames; 7 great grandchildren, Caleb, Taylor, Isaac, Rowan, Garren, Shephard and Caden; 1 sister, Kathleen Kegley of Richmond; nieces and nephews. Carmody was preceded in death by an infant brother, Charles Kegley; sister and brother in-law, Shirlene and Perry Miller. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday August 15, 2016 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Pastor Danny Berry will officiate. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday August 14th.
