PERSHING - Glen A. "Butch" Bogue, 71, of Pershing, passed away Thursday afternoon October 19, 2017 at Stonebrooke in New Castle. A son of the late Klein and Thelma (Stewart) Bogue, Glen was born in Connersville, Indiana on November 21, 1945. He moved to Milton when he was three years old and attended Milton School. After moving to the Cambridge City community he graduated from Lincoln High School. He also was a graduate of the Indiana Police Academy. Butch had worked as a truck driver and was also employed by the Town of Milton as Marshall and Maintenance Superintendent.. He later took the position of Police Chief for the Town of Cambridge City. For eighteen years he was campground attendant at Hickory Wood Campground in Brookville, returning to the Cambridge City community in 2005. Butch had been a member of the Milton and Cambridge City Volunteer Fire Departments. In his youth, Butch enjoyed skating at the roller rink at Creitz Park and fishing. In his leisure, Butch enjoyed visiting with people and playing cards
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, the former Penny Lou Willis. They were married in Cambridge City on February 22, 1964. 3 children, Glen Jr. of Richmond, Kenny of Cambridge City and Brent of Pershing; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Donnie of Cambridge City, Keith of Connersville and Bob of Nevada; nieces and nephews.
Butch was preceded in death by 2 infant brothers; 1 sister, Linda Womak; 1 brother, Jim.
Following cremation at the Eastern Indiana Crematory in Dublin, a Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday October 23, 2017 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. A short prayer service conducted by Harley Schultz will conclude the celebration at 7 p.m..
